Ysgol Gynradd Gymraeg Tan-y-lan

Bydd dda, bydd ddoeth, bydd wych

Welcome Croeso

ADY ac Asiantaethau Cefnogi plant/ ALN and Child Support Agencies

The transformation of the provision of ALN in Wales is the largest reform seen for a generation in the way our children are supported.

The aims are

  • to use a person-centred approach to improve the planning and delivery of ALP
  • to change and improve the way children with ALN and their parents are supported
  • Place children and parents at the heart of the system
  • Introduce greater choice and control over the support they receive
  • Successful collaboration between outside agencies

In light of these new transformations at Ysgol Tan-y-lan we now have a team of dedicated staff who provide direct intervention to the pupils on a daily basis as their main role within our school. Each member of our team is appropriately trained to deliver specific programmes/ interventions tailored to meet the needs of the individual pupil. Our team of qualified practitioners are an invaluable resource.

  • As a team, we hold a 'check in' meeting on a Monday morning and a 'check out' meeting on a Friday morning, this allows us time to discuss the weeks activities and challenges.

ADDITIONAL LEARNING NEEDS AND EDUCATIONAL TRIBUNAL (WALES)

The Additional Learning Needs and Educational Tribunal Wales (ALNET) Act 2018 is just one aspect of the overarching ALN Transformation Programme. At the heart of these reforms is a focus on inclusion; putting children and young people at the centre, and ensuring they are supported to reach their full potential.

The overarching aims of the Bill are to create:
· a unified legislative framework to support children and young people aged 0-25 with ALN in schools and further education
· an integrated, collaborative process of assessment, planning and monitoring, which facilitates early, timely and effective interventions
· a fair and transparent system for providing information and advice, and for resolving concerns and appeals

The Welsh Government sets out a timeline for the implementation of the Act.
