Y Dreigiau Cymraeg (Y Criw Cymreictod) 

Rôl y Dreigiau Cymraeg yw cyd-weithio’n effeithiol gydag athrawon, llywodraethwyr a rhieni i godi safonau’r iaith Gymraeg o fewn yr ysgol. 

Mae gennym chwe tharged yr ydym yn ceisio cyrraedd ac yn gobeithio bydd hyn yn arwain tuag at wellhad safon yr iaith Gymraeg. Rydym yn ceisio gwneud yn siŵr bod ffrindiau yn siarad Cymraeg yn y dosbarth, coridorau ac amseroedd chwarae. Rydym yn gweithio’n galed tu hwnt i ddatblygu hyder ein ffrindiau i ddefnyddio patrymau iaith gywir wrth sgwrsio. Rydym yn gobeithio codi ymwybyddiaeth rieni’r ysgol o bwysigrwydd siarad Cymraeg adref os yn bosib. Rydym yn edrych ymlaen at weithio gydag ysgolion y dalgylch i rannu syniadau ac arfer dda er mwyn datblygu projectau gwahanol. Balchder fydd gweithio’n agos gyda’r Tîm Gwella Ysgolion, Swyddogion yr Urdd a Swyddogion Menter Iaith Abertawe i ddatblygu cysylltiadau yn Nhreforys a thu hwnt. Gobeithiwn y gallwn ennill y wobr Arian ac Aur y Siarter Iaith a chlywed gwahaniaeth o’r defnydd yn yr iaith o fewn ein hysgol ni. 

The Welsh Dragons (The Welsh Council) 

The Welsh Dragons’ role is to work effectively with teachers, governors and parents in raising the standard of Welsh in the school. 

We are currently working towards six targets. We believe achieving these targets will lead to improving the standards in the school. 

We support and encourage pupils to speak Welsh in the classrooms, corridors and during playtime. We work extremely hard in developing our friends’ confidence with using correct language patterns. In addition, we aim to raise parents’ awareness with the importance of speaking Welsh at home when possible. 

We look forward to working with our cluster schools to share ideas and good practice in order to develop various projects. We are proud to work closely with the School’s Improvement Team, the Urdd officers and the Swansea Language Initiative Officers to develop partnerships within Morriston and surrounding areas. 

We hope to achieve the Silver and Gold Welsh Charter awards as well as raising the standard of spoken Welsh in and around the school.
